How is the oud weighed?
We find many consumers who love oud and don't know how an oud is weighed and what are the basic criteria for measuring the oud's weight.
The oud is weighed on a scale called an ounce and there is another scale called the tula and we will explain both:
1- Tula
Tula is a type of mass measurement and the oud is weighed, one tula is 12 grams
When buying the oud and calculating it in kilograms, one kilo equals 83 toules.
To expand the measures of the weight of the oud and the oud oil, we find that: -
Half tulle = 6 grams
A quarter of Tula = 3 grams
2- ounce
Also, the oud can be weighed by another standard scale that is well-known in the oud market, which is what is called an ounce:
an ounce is a type of the famous block measure used from ancient times to the present time, where many things are weighed and its size is measured in ounces, the most important of which is measuring the weight of the oud.
One ounce is 30 grams.
And when buying an oud in a kilo, one kilo equals 33 ounces
And for the sake of caution: the ounce value varies according to the weight, as the weight criteria differ from one country to another.
Some oud descriptions that are necessary to know: -
Super: It means excellent
Super Double: It means very good
Triple Super: It means that it is very excellent and better than any other kind
Pure: very pure and very pure
