Indian oud can be distinguished by the following features
1 - Indian oud has dark color besides another color, which is more light brown and because of that this oud has heavy weight and distinctive smell that lasts longer.
2 - Indian lute characterized by the large number of black veins and the more the veins increase, the better the quality.
3 - One of the features of the Indian oud smell is that it resembles the smell of Cambodian oud to some extent.
USES OF INDIAN OUD
In addition to perfuming, Indians use the oud as a medicinal drug and also as sacred incense in the temples and to be blessed by the goddess.
OUD CHEATING PHENOMENON IN INDIA
It is very rare to find 100% pure Indian Oud due to the prevalence of Oud Cheating in India which is done through:
1 - by cutting the glue and stuffing from the inside with dust.
2 - pouring the lute with cement.
3- Add a simple wax layer on it.
4 - Oud dye colors extracted from natural materials to make oud appear darker.
